FAQ

What is the general fit of your clothing?

Our general style is true to size for a comfortable fit. Please see individual product descriptions for more information.

How do I wear apartment pants?

Our Apartment pants are the perfect casual and comfortable pant for travelling, running errands and hanging out. They are designed to be worn hanging loosely around your hips and backside, with a drop crutch between the legs. Please bear in mind that these pants aren't stitched using "activewear" techniques, so the seams may give way and pop in pressure spots if you've chosen a snug fit. A tighter fit may also cause the printed designs to rub off in places, and you can rub away the fabric between your legs. We recommend staying true to your size for optimal wear, we don't recommend sizing down.

Our pants have an elastic component in the cotton fabric, which gives them the great drape, stretch and recovery and comfy look and feel. However elastic can perish over time – so we recommend keeping the fabric away from heat as much as you can, don’t put them in the dryer, use a cold machine wash, and if possible, dry your pants inside or in the shade, rather than in direct sunlight. Using harsh washing powders can also erode the elastane in your fabric over time.

Can you tell me about your different fabric weights?

Most of our well-known items are made from Cotton/Elastane in the following weights:

190GSM - is our "Summer Weight," typically used for t-shirts and apartment pants.

Pants are listed online as 3/4 Apartment Pants or Apartment Pants.

260GSM - is our "Winter Weight," this fabric is typically used for sweatshirts. It features unbrushed fleece, so it has a smooth interior.

Pants are listed online as Apartment Pants - Winter Weight.

320GSM - is our "Alpine Weight" this fabric is used for heavier weight Hoodies and Apartment Pants. It features brushed fleece, so has a fluffy interior.

Pants are listed online as Apartment Pants - Alpine Weight.

What is the best way to care for my garments?

Please follow the washing instructions in the back of each garment for best care details.

A large portion of our garments are made with Cotton/Elastane - Elastane is the elastic portion of the cotton that gives the fabric good stretch and recovery. However being elastic, it can break down if not cared for correctly - this means no hot washing, tumble drying, and when you can dry these items in the shade.

Items will fade in the harsh New Zealand Sun, so again to retain their colour as long as you can, don't hot wash, don't tumble dry and dry items inside out in the shade. Black Wash is great for washing Black coloured items.

Knitted items will take on the shape of the clothes hangers you use, as well as naturally 'stretch' out when hung. We definitely recommend to never hang knitwear, always fold and put it in a drawer or on a shelf.
